To match my KEYBOARD CADDY I designed a sister unit intended to hold my computer mouse.  The mouse is very lightweight so I opted to save material by incorporating a hex pattern into the walls.  The draft angle offers an easier entry/exit and complements the angle on the keyboard caddy.  The real difficult bit was designing the geometry of the cable channel.

The front half of the cable channel features progressively steeper curves, gently beveled to guide the mouse cable through from a variety of entry angles.  And the back half of the cable channel features straighter, more steeply angled walls that consistently guide the cable out without snagging.

I could have opted for a much wider cable channel with a large gap, but I 1) wanted to maximize the surface the mouse sits on and 2) support a broad range of mouse sizes.

The final design features an additional cubby sized for a small notebook or hard drive
