I worked as a studio assistant and instructor with the Atlanta Photographers Guild for 5 years.  Following my work on The Bellcast (a short-run absurdist Taco Bell review podcast) my mentor and APG founder Marc Turnley asked me if I would like to produce a photography podcast for the Atlanta Photographers Guild.

After some initial discussion of scope and tone we settled on a limited series of guest interviews exploring the often nebulous concept of “style”.  After settling on a list of questions to ask each guest I reached out to schedule our interviewees.

As with The Bellcast, the recordings were engineered by my brother in his studio, while I handled editing, final mixdown, and distribution.  The unscripted nature of this podcast series was a major departure from the tightly scripted Bellcast.  This, combined with the much longer runtime, presented new editing challenges.  In particular I had to develop a sense for how to cut out dead-end tangents while maintaining both the tempo and logical throughline of a conversation.  This skill would help me in later projects, especially when editing guest lectures and interviews for clients.
